READY-TO-GO TRAINING
Just buy a leader's guide and participants' workbooks, and you're
ready to go. Self-explanatory leader's notes allow you to prepare
quickly to teach a module. Modules generally take 2-4 hours to present,
depending on teaching objectives, the addition of custom material,
group size, and audience skill level. Modules can also be offered
to employees to complete on a self-study basis. Pre-workshop and
post-workshop assignments are available.
THREE-PHASED PROCESS
In order to make the greatest impact
on employees, Merit uses a systematic approach to training. Merit
endorses a three-phased approach to training:
1. The PRE-WORKSHOP
ASSIGNMENT sets the stage, prepares the participants, and
asks them to complete a self-assessment, answer several questions,
and state their objectives for the training.
2. The WORKSHOP
focuses on innovative methods of teaching, including interactive
role plays, presentations, exercises, and simulations of actual
workplace situations. The workshop exercises are designed to be
experiential, energizing, and challenging to participant.
3. The POST-WORKSHOP
APPLICATION includes specific action items for the participants
to complete after the training. This procedure reinforces the concepts
learned and allows the participant to think through practical, on-the-job-application
of the concepts of the course.
